Defense Day(6th September 1965)

Defense Day.
Defense day 6th September.

We (Pakistani) celebrate Defense Day on 6th September. 6th September has a special place in the history of Pakistan. All the world saw that India launched her forces and attacked Pakistan throughout the global border without any warning or an announcement of war this motion of India, which claims to be the greatest democracy in the World, used to be in utter violation of International law, the charter of the United Nations and norms of civilized conduct among states. India arrogantly swept apart her worldwide commitments in her wish to subjugate the region.

Reaction of Pakistan (6th September 1965)

India attacked at night (3:00 AM) on Lahore from three sides They thought that Pakistanis are sleeping and they can captured Pakistan easily. But unfortunately they forgot Our brave soldiers protect their country 24/7 .

This fight prevailed over 17 days period and the result was what no Indian had expected. Pakistan won this war with a great advantage banishing the Indians out of their country Pakistan. They fought so bravely that the whole world now appreciates them for their courage and their patriotism. So many of our soldiers lost their lives during this battle some of which are very prominent like:
⦁ Major.Aziz Bhatti,He has been given many awards for his outstanding bravery, he is also known as “Muhafiz-e-Lahore”. He has also been awrded by Nishane-haider and “Sword of honor”. When he was going , his little son asked him do you believe you are enough strong against India. He said i am sure we are strong because our enemy has a” paid Army” But we Pakistani fight with “Jazba e Iemani”.Then his five years son said go father and show your Jazba e Emani to our enemy.I am sure you will fight bravely .

Not only these soldiers but many more gave their lives to protect our beloved country

Confidence of Indian Army Chief, Gen. J. N. Chaudhry

On sixth September Indian forces crossed the border, pushed returned the Pakistan Rangers, and superior closer to Lahore on two axes. The Indian Army Chief, Gen. J. N. Chaudhry used to be so assured of defeating the Pakistani troops guarding the location and taking pictures Lahore that he introduced to all and sundry that he would have a giant peg of whisky at the Lahore Gymkhana Club in the night of the 6th. He was sure to take breakfast at Lahore. He had the motive to be assured as he was once regarded in India as the “conqueror of Hyderabad in Deccan”. But I pay tribute to Major Aziz Bhatti and his force. They stand for six days and nights and their enemy could not step forward even an inch in Lahore. J. N. Chaudhry was dreaming of Lahori breakfast and forgot about our lionhearted soldiers.

Causes Of The war (6th September 1965)

After the 1947 Indo-Pakistan separation things were going to normalize .No doubt there were some unsolved issues like the water dispute and the Kashmir issue . Kashmir is always a bone of contention between two countries. The war of 1948 was also on Kashmir issue.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir, which had a predominantly Muslim population but Hindu leadership, shared borders with both India and West Pakistan. The argument over which nation would incorporate the state led to the first India-Pakistan War in 1947–48 and ended with UN mediation. Jammu and Kashmir, also known as “Indian Kashmir” or just “Kashmir,” joined the Republic of India, but the Pakistani Government continued to believe that the majority Muslim state rightfully belonged to Pakistan.

Conflict resumed again in early 1965, when Pakistani and Indian forces clashed over disputed territory along the border between the two nations.

The clash did not resolve this dispute, but it did engage the United States and the Soviet Union in ways that would have important implications for subsequent superpower involvement in the region.

Results of the war.(6th September 1965)

Pakistan emerged from the Defense Day hostilities with India, a sturdy and self-confident nation, proud of itself and its armed forces. It was once a kingdom that was once united in dealing with the chance from India. National solidarity and a full assist for the armed forces in the area are necessary for success in war. With the nation’s aid, the Armed Forces of Pakistan repulsed India‘s bare aggression throughout the worldwide border and made her pay a fee for it by means of taking pictures 4 instances greater territory than India and forcing her to be given a ceasefire, return to the negotiating desk and to vacate every others territory. It was once simply their best hour of glory and a day to be remembered through future generations of troopers and civilians.

After the September 1965 Indo-Pakistan battle and the Tashkent Agreement Pakistan relaxed, as peace had been restored. But India organized a new and six years later in 1971 once more attacked throughout the global border, this time in the Eastern Wing of u. s . and succeeded in dismembering Pakistan whilst the World and the United Nations stood by means of and watched.

The “Defense Day” have to additionally be a day of thanksgiving. We ought to all pray for the protection and unity of Pakistan and additionally that God offers us the strength, braveness and determination, to shield and guard at all costs, the freedom and honor of our homeland.
